John Dunlap has over 20 years of experience composing, arranging, and teaching in both the indoor and outdoor percussion realms. John has also served as the Unit Representative and Judging Coordinator for the Gulf Coast Color Guard and Percussion Circuit for three years. John is well known to educators, parents and students as a teacher who creates a positive and enthralling learning environment for students ages eleven to eighteen at public schools along the Eastern and Southern coastlines.

John has functioned in a number of capacities with many successful scholastic and independent educational youth organizations around the United States including the 2003 World Champion Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps (CA), Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps (NJ), Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps (NJ), Chattanooga Independent (TN), Virginia Helmsmen (VA), Scenic City Velocity (TN), Cynosure (FL), The University of Texas El Paso (TX), The University of Southern Mississippi (MS), The University of Mobile (AL), Hatboro Horsham High School (PA), Central Bucks West High School (PA), Downingtown High School (PA), Harrison Central High School (MS), Tate High School (FL), Choctawhatchee High School (FL), Pace High School (FL), Dorman High School (FL), Fort Walton Beach High School (FL), Daphne High School (FL), Madison Central High School (MS), and E.D. White High School (LA). Many of these organizations have competed in Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates, Bands of America, Winterguard International, as well as in numerous local marching band and indoor circuits.

John is a member of several associations for music educators including Percussive Arts Society, Florida Bandmasters Association, National Federation of State High School Associations, National Association for Music Education, Florida Music Educators Associations, and Mississippi Bandmasters Association. John currently resides along the Gulf Coast where he proudly serves as an Educational Artist for Innovative Percussion Inc. as well as Dynasty USA and is continuing to focus on composing original scores for a variety of educational levels.


Phil Christenot

For five years, Phil served as arranger and director of the Front Ensemble for Choctawhatchee High School. Other tasks served under Shane's leadership also consisted of coffee runs, tropical smoothie pick-ups, and many a-foot rub.

During his time at Choctawhatchee he composed two original pit books: "I Hope" and "Twisted" which placed 4th for two consecutive years at Winter Guard International in the Scholastic World Division. Phil has also provided compositions which has been adapted and arranged for Southwind Drum Corp in 2007 and Spirit Drum Corp in 2008.

In addition to working with Choctawhatchee High School, he has also written and arranged pit books for numerous high schools such as: Escambia High School (PSW), Pace High School (PSA), Tate High School (PSO), Fort Walton Beach High School (PSO), Niceville High School, Crestview High School, and Oak Grove High School.

Phil is currently a starving college student and is tired of living off of Ramen Noodles. Therefore, it is imperative that if should you need some pit music that you contact him.

And ladies: He also enjoys long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners, and getting caught in the rain.



Matt Jordan

Matt Jordan currently lives in the Denton, TX area, where he is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Texas. Before starting at UNT, Matt earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance (Cum Laude) from Middle Tennessee State University. He is also currently on the percussion staff for Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps, and has previously worked with Music City Mystique. Matt is also an active arranger, writing for schools throughout the United States, such as Father Ryan High School, McGavock High School, Grissom High School, Franklin High School, Mt. Juliet High School, and Middle Tennessee State University.

Matt currently performs with the world-renowned University of North Texas Wind Symphony, as well as the 2:00 Lab Band, UNT Percussion Ensemble, and other ensembles. Matt is also an active solo performer, having been a soloist with the UNT Percussion Ensemble, MTSU Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble, and the Eastern Music Festival percussion ensemble.

Matt was the timpanist of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2003 and 2004, and Music City Mystique from 2000-2005. In 2004, he received 1st place in both the PASIC and DCI Timpani Individuals competitions. Matt’s major influences include - Lalo Davila, Erik Johnson, Christopher Deane, Mark Ford, Leigh Howard Stevens, Christopher Norton, John Feddersen, She-e Wu, Scot Corey, and Bill Wiggin.
