Shane's Philosophy
"You are an athlete, so train like one!"
This is the philosophy behind my methods of building your perfect marching percussion program. The tasks you're asked to achieve take quite a bit of training: you sweat, and you develop muscles and coordination that the average Joe doesn't have. And, above all else, you strive for perfection through repetition! This sounds like an athlete to me. These exercises are set up to break down your technique in order to develop a consistent motion and even sound quality. Before you play eights, play my “Manchops 201” exercise to break down the muscles and get the burn. Then, approach any of the technique programs and get the most bang for the buck! I started doing this as I developed high school programs with a limited amount of time to produce results. With these tools at your disposal you'll create your own personal strategy for success in no time at all.
